Carnage 24 is now 2 months away and we are excited to be hosting Vermont’s Tabletop Game Convention at our new home, Mount Snow. We are looking forward to hosting a wide range of tabletop gamers.

Three months ago, we released a statement regarding our COVID policy. At that time, we had consulted with the VT Dept. of Health and obtained legal guidance. We saw that vaccination rates were steadily increasing and COVID cases were low.  Vermont was poised to lift all restrictions, and the state did just that.   None of Carnage board had a Delorean with a flux capacitor to travel into the future to see what it held. With the knowledge and guidance we had received, we felt our policy was fair and correct. As we have learned throughout this pandemic, things can change rather quickly. We have always stated that if the situation and guidance changed, we would reevaluate our policy.

If only we did have that Delorean, because the situation did change, and not for the better. With the pandemic still raging and new guidance coming out, we have realized it is now time that we must update our COVID policy.

Carnage will now be requiring proof of vaccination or a negative test within 72 hours of the convention to attend.  Please see the main points of our updated policy below.

To pick up your Carnage badge at our registration desk, each badge holder will have to show the following:
1. A photo ID AND
2. A COVID vaccine card OR a negative COVID test.

For a COVID vaccine card, we will accept the physical card, or a photograph of your vaccine card. You must be fully vaccinated by the time you arrive at Carnage. Fully vaccinated means it has been at least two weeks since your Johnson & Johnson dose or your second Pfizer or Moderna dose.

For a negative COVID test, it must be taken within 72 hours of your arrival at Carnage and cannot be an antigen test.

For minors, photo ID will not be required but they will still have to show a vaccine card or negative COVID test.

You will need a badge to enter any Carnage convention spaces at Mount Snow. There will be no exceptions.

At this time, wearing of masks will not be required but is strongly recommended when participating in gaming that takes place close to other participants. Certain GMs may require that masks be worn at their games.  This will be clearly noted in the games’ description on the Tabletop Events site when signing up for games.

We have given up on trying to find a time traveling Delorean and our efforts to procure a functioning TARDIS have not been successful. We certainly don’t trust that Magic 8-Ball’s future predictions. So we have no idea what can happen within the next two months. Because of this, please keep in mind this policy may need to be updated again.
